GAME DRIVES

A game drive is going out and looking for wildlife. South Luangwa National Park is one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. It has some of the densest concentrations of game in Africa. There are 60 animal species and over 400 different bird species. It allows the visitor to go out and see the Africa of old. Wild, wonderful and exciting. You will certainly see plenty of animals, Hippo's and crocodiles bask in the rivers while herds of elephants roam free. You can do this in a safari vehicle, but also on foot! South Luangwa National Park is one of the few parks where you are actually allowed to go a walking safari. This is the way to taste the real thrill of this remote, untamed and unspoilt part of Africa (together with an armed guard and a qualified guide, off course!)

The park is a true wilderness so you might not see every animal you would like to but there is always a surprise to make up for it! There are also night game drives which give a rare opportunity to see and hear nocturnal animals.

See the Gallery for pictures of a few of the animals to be seen in the park.

VILLAGE TOURS

We want to set up a village tour, to show you the real African life-style. However, when this information was printed, the tour was not yet made. When all the arrangements are made, you can expect the following; a local guide will take you around the village and he/she will explain as much he/she can to you. His/her English might not be the best, but we are sure you will understand each other. You will see traditional houses, outside kitchens, local food, woman pounding the mais, etc. And you can learn the local greetings! This tour costs US$10 per person. Some of this money will go to the guide and the village. It will take you approx. 1 hour.
